Hong Kong Exhibition at Venice Biennale: “Inter Cities / Intra Cities: Ghostwriting the Future”

Hong Kong will participate in the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia with an exhibition focusing on the vital urban, architectural and cultural regeneration of Kowloon East.

Kowloon East is one of the largest urban regeneration projects in the world and of major importance in continuing development of Hong Kong as a world class city. The exhibition is titled “Inter Cities / Intra Cities: Ghostwriting the Future”.

The exhibition is organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Oval Partnership has been selected at curators of the exhibition, following a public call for proposals by the HKIA. Oval has developed the concept for the exhibition and selected content from 13 contributing exhibitors all working on live projects in Kowloon East, in response to Biennale Director David Chipperfield’s overall theme for the 13th International Architecture Exhibition, “Common Ground”.

The exhibition takes place in Venice between 29 August – 25 November 2012. Further details of the response exhibition and public events, to be held in Hong Kong in Spring 2013, will be revealed in late August.
